Boss MS-3 Multi Effects Switcher review

Compact multi-effects provides tone quality and sound-shaping ability that far exceeds. Song-Based looper and smart rhythm machine for modern music creators. Tabletop looper with five loop tracks, dedicated controls and powerful effects. Advanced BOSS technology in a compact tabletop looper with two loop tracks.Owning one of the best multi-effects pedals for guitarists enables you to access a stack of different effects in one single unit.

This makes them very attractive to guitarists looking to save space and who might be looking to consolidate collection that's grown a little out of hand. Even those of you with the best guitar effects collection might be looking to add something new to your round-up, and if so a versatile multi-effects is definitely worth considering. Once upon a time, even the best multi-effects pedals were seen as perhaps a more inferior option to having individual stomp boxes. That's changed hugely.

Big leaps forward in multi-effects technology have seen these units grow in popularity, which means we now have a bigger choice to play with. So regardless of whether you're starting from scratch with your effects, or you're a hardened pedal-head, now is the time to start looking at how the best multi-effects pedal could benefit your rig. Don't forget to check out our guide to the best pedalboards too.

We'll be reporting on the best offers right through to Prime Day itself. Try as we might, it was difficult to pick out one particular model as the best multi-effects pedal in the world.

In terms of pure sound quality, feature-set and reliability it's hard to look beyond the Boss GT You'd expect the flagship multi-effects pedal from the biggest name in effects to be special, and the GT certainly delivers.

At the other end of the scale, the Mooer GE impressed. The effects all sounded like they came from a much more expensive unit, and the ability to load up your own impulse responses gave it a sense of personalisation which we rated. Special mention too for the Eventide H9which is another of our top picks for the best multi-effects pedal. Although more suited to studio than stage, the H9 gets a mention purely on account of the included reverbs and delays.

Enough to make the hairs on your neck stand up, and well worth the investment alone. If there's one thing you've got when choosing the best multi-effects pedal for you, it's a wide selection. There are small form-factor pedals that pack in a handful of essential effects, and there are enormous 'studio-in-a-box' type units.

As with anything, your allocated budget will dictate which end of the spectrum you'll end up at, but there are some key things to point out. You'll want to consider the types of effects you'll actually use.

Be realistic. We've all seen examples of someone firing up a multi-effects unit, blasting through the presets like a kid in a sweetshop, before settling on a small handful of tried and trusted effects.

Would that person have been better served looking for a smaller, more capable unit to handle the effects they ended up using? The alternative theory is that, occasionally, you can stumble on something you've never used before and it can spark your creativity.

This happens, and is a happy side benefit of having so many effects at your beck and call. If packing in as many effects as you can into a single box is your aim, you'll find plenty of options to choose from at all ends of the price scale. From budget options like the smaller Zoom pedals, through to entry-level versions of the pro models from the big names in effects like Boss and Line 6.Protect your investment.

Pro Essentials Going well beyond the basics, the MS-3 provides tons of options for expanded control.By epPrimeAugust 28, in Effects and Processors. I want to inform you about new site for sharing patches. Basic idea is to have patches for all guitar and bass processors at one place and to make it systematic, easy to use and very informative. Main difference between this and similar sites is that it is made for all processors AND amount of typing is reduced when uploading patches.

You just fill out a form of your gear after registration and later select that information from dropdown list for processor model and signal pathwhen creating new patch. Visitor can then see informations about patches, like description, gear used, video or audio etc. Gear description in showed on mouse hover, so if you have a semi or full custom gear, description field is a neat way to inform visitors about whole sonic image.

Visitor can also download pdf of all of this informations or print them, and also use rss for certain processors models. Registration and using of a site is of course free and it will remain free. Don't forget to activate your account after registering. Also I would like to know ideas for improvements or bugs, errors etc. At the moment, server could be a bit slow, but site recently started and we will upgrade to new server soon.

Effect Patches. Rock on. Looks like you're missing a few. This reeks so much of those random spam posts that pop up from time to time selling shoes and electronics and stuff. Always a list of products. If this topic is in the wrong section of the forum pedals only maybemoderator could move it. If you are using pedals, it's ok with me, but you don't have to be so rude.

I'm not selling anything, neither I insulted you in any way and you attacked me like a pack of hounds. Thank you. At least one man understood what I'm doing here. The reason they went after you so hard is that your post has the appearance of spam to it. Spam is any post that is designed to drive traffic to your site and away from the site you spammed. You may not be "selling" anything in the traditional sense, but you are "spamming" promoting your site. In this case, it sounds like something that would actually be useful to the effects community at large, so I have no problem with letting your post stay up - but I suspect you would have received a more favorable welcome if you had approached this a little differently and introduced yourself to our community first, said hello and then after introductions, told people about what you're trying to do with the site.

Best of luck with your site and project - I do agree that it's a good idea. The moderator thinks it good to leave us multi-fx users in here with the analog pedal stomp box loving tone hounds. I guess it'd be too decent to let us have a distinct forum of our own where we wouldn't have to put up with them. So, yes, this is the designated place for multi-fx, but don't expect much, thanks to being lumped in with the above. I am promoting site, but in no way it's competition for Harmony Central.

You are probably right, but I did say hi, and explained site briefly.Pro pedalboards are increasingly based around almighty switching systems, designed to swap stompboxes in and out with ease. Yet for those of us looking to minimise on real estate and outlayBoss has come up with an ingenious solution that gives you programmable loops for three of your own pedals and a host of its own effects - to be precise. Read more: Zoom G1X Four. The same goes for internal effects. There are patch memories for saving your expertly tweaked sounds, each with four effects or pedals that can be switched in or out at will, or four presets that can be instantly recalled.

Want a fuzz for your solo, with adjustable tap tempo for the delay and momentary flanger control? Need to swap three of your fave stacked drive pedals out for a compressed clean with reverb and chorus, all with a single tap? No problem. The MS-3 is rammed with pristine modulations, all the essential delay and reverb types, as well as a load of Boss specials, such as the dynamic Tera Echo and sequenced tremolo Slicer.
